Die Arbeiten des Schweizer Fotografen Dominik Orth (*1978) sind vielfältig und packend. Seine Bilder erzählen Geschichten von Menschen und deren Leben; von Ländern und deren Seelen, von der Natur und ihren Geheimnissen. Manchmal berühren sie und gehen direkt ins Herz; manchmal wecken sie eine schlummernde Sehnsucht. Immer jedoch ist der ästhetische und künstlerische Anspruch an seine Fotografien im Vordergrund. Sein Anspruch ist es, dass jedes Foto genug stark und aussagekräftig ist, dass es, unabhängig von der Serie, auch alleine stehen kann.
Seit mehr als 20 Jahren bereist und fotografiert er nahe und ferne Destinationen auf der ganzen Welt. Seine Antriebsfeder ist die Neugier für das Fremde. Das Unbekannte reizt ihn, und das Entdecken von Ländern übt eine tiefe Faszination auf ihn aus.
Dominik Orth hat ein Studium in Psychologie und Betriebswirtschaft, das er 2006 an der Universität Zürich mit einem Master abgeschlossen hat.

The photographs from Swiss based photographer Dominik Orth (born 1978) are versatile and compelling. His images tell stories of countries and their souls; of nature and its secrets, of people and their lives. Sometimes they touch and go straight to the heart, sometimes they awaken a dormant longing. However, it is Dominik’s aesthetic and artistic expectation that characterize his work. His pictures are full of atmosphere. What matters in his work is that each picture can stand on its own, with its own story and emotions.
For more than 20 years he is exploring destinations near and far with his camera and has shaped his own style. Each of his pictures are the result of the initial confrontation and his personal connection with a place, its inhabitants and its nature. His driving forces are his curiosity for the unfamiliar, the unknown that excites him and his deep fascination of discovering new countries.
Dominik Orth holds a Master’s degree in psychology and business administration from the University of Zurich. His professional yet down-to-earth personality, his strong networking skills and his passion for photography, have made him valuable contacts all over the world and make of him a very pleasant and flexible photographer easy to collaborate with.
